TheDream.US is the largest scholarship program for “dreamers” (undocumented immigrants who were brought into the United States, children) – has announced that it has received a donation in the amount of 33 million dollars from the family of Jeff and Mackenzie Bezos.
This donation is the largest in the history of TheDream.US – will provide assistance in the education of thousands of “dreamers”.
The founder of the largest online store Amazon Jeff Bezos said that his father came to the United States at the age of sixteen years, not knowing English, but thanks to his perseverance and the support of wonderful organizations in the state of Delaware, became an outstanding citizen who is still working for the good of society.
“For us, with Mackenzie honoured to help provide funds for scholarships for today’s “dreamers”,” said Bezos.
Currently TheDream.US financial support 2 850 students. Scholarships allocated by the organization to cover the cost of tuition and textbooks.
Today in the United States is home to about 800 thousand “dreamers” who face great challenges in higher education: in particular, they do not have the ability to obtain Federal student loans.
