Observers suggest that the successor Tillerson may be the U.S. representative to the UN, Nikki Haley
WASHINGTON – IN Washington increase speculation that the Secretary of state Rex Tillerson may soon leave the administration, given the statements that he made and his assistant in the last two days.
Monday Tillerson met for lunch with President Donald trump and Vice-President Mike Pence. Later on Monday, Pence met with the US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley.
The coincidence of these meetings have guided the observers to the idea that Hayley may offer the post of Secretary of state in the case of the departure of Tillison.
In an interview with Fox News on Sunday of Tillison asked to comment on trump’s statement about the recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia, where the share of white nationalists led to clashes with counter-demonstrators.
Trump initially blamed the riots on both sides, which caused wide outrage. Legislators of the Republican party, trump and many public commentators accused the President that he did not condemn right-wing enough targeted and sharp.
Trump statements was regarded as the adjustment of the supporters of the white supremacist with ultra & demonstrators. During an interview with Fox News Tillerson was asked whether he believes that trump’s statements reflect the values of the United States.
“I don’t think anyone doubts the values of the American people, the commitment of the U.S. government or government agencies to promote and protect these values,” he said again.
When anchor Chris Wallace asked Tillerson about the values of the trump, the Secretary of state without any explanation said that “the President speaks on his behalf”.
On Monday, the assistant Tillison denied that the remark of the Secretary of state meant criticism of the values of trump, but refused to soften its position.
“Our values begin with the Constitution – said an unnamed assistant Tillison CNN. – The President’s job is to protect these values. If he did everything in his power reacting to events in Charlottesville? No. But this does not mean that America is changing.”
“That’s why the President speaks for itself, because the Constitution speaks for the country”, – said the assistant.
The statement, Tillerson and his assistant has raised suspicions among observers.
Professor of political science at Boston University Thomas Whalen said that the statement that the Constitution, not the President speaks on behalf of the country, “testifies to the condemnation of the authoritarian managerial style of the President trump”.
The Whalen called the words of assistant Tillison “the last trump”.
Care Tillerson will only increase the confusion which has characterized the first months of the administration of trump, according to observers, shared their opinions with the “Voice of America”.
“Trump is no big bench,” says Joshua Sandman, an expert on presidential power, University of new haven in Connecticut.
While Sandman believes that if in the case of care Tillerson his successor will be Nikki Haley, who supports a “high status” to the UN, it will greatly help to eliminate the concerns.
