Назвав Россию и Китай «соперниками», Трамп призвал модернизировать ядерный арсенал

In the report “On the situation in the country,” the President said that “unmatched” military power is the key to the security of the country

The US President Donald trump called on Congress to “upgrade and recover” of the us nuclear Arsenal to be able to resist the “rivals like China and Russia” that challenge American interests, economy and values.

Trump made this appeal in his first report to Congress “On the situation in the country,” in which he outlined details of its plan “to re-make America great” as he promised during the election campaign of 2016.

“Worldwide, we are faced with the regimes of rogue terrorist groups and such rivals as China and Russia who challenge our interests, our economy and our values,” said trump to the members of the Senate, the house of representatives and numerous guests.

“When we face these dangers, we know that weakness is the surest way to conflict, not having equal power – the surest means of our protection,” he added.

According to the President, for this reason, he refers to the Congress with the request to Fund the U.S. armed forces in full.

Trump noted that in the framework of the defence of the country must “modernize and restore its nuclear potential, hoping never to use it, but make it so strong and powerful to he suppressed any acts of aggression.”

“Maybe someday in the future there will come a magical moment when the world will unite to eliminate their nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, we have not yet reached this point,” he said.

It is noteworthy that the President’s speech contained no other mention of Russia, as the conflict with Ukraine, NATO and security in Europe.

At the same time, trump has criticized North Korea, calling it a “cruel dictatorship”.

“Reckless North Korea’s quest to acquire nuclear rockets may soon threaten our home, he warned. – We have been campaigning for maximum pressure to prevent it.”

“Past experience has taught us that complacency and concessions only contribute to aggression and provocations, the President continued. – I will not repeat the mistakes of past administrations, which is why we ended up in this precarious position.”

However, he did not go into the details of his plan against the regime in Pyongyang.

Trump also reminded the audience that last year he promised that the United States will work with its allies “to wipe the Islamic state off the face of the earth.”

“A year later, I am proud to report that the coalition against the Islamic state freed almost 100 percent of the territory that had once held these murderers in Iraq and Syria, he said. But much more work remains to be done. We will continue our struggle until Islamic state is not defeated”.

Trump said that the terrorists laying bombs in hospitals to civilians, are inherently evil.

“Where possible, we destroy them. When necessary, we should be able to detain and interrogate them. But we must be clear: terrorists are not just criminals. It’s illegal enemy combatants, the President said. And in cases when they are captured abroad, they should be treated like the terrorists they are”.

Without mentioning his predecessor by name, trump has criticized the administration of former President Barack Obama because she “admitted folly”, releasing hundreds of dangerous terrorists, which then saw again on the battlefield.

“So, today I am fulfilling another promise, – said trump. – I have just signed a decree instructing the Minister of defense Jim] Mattis to revise our policy in relation to military detention and left open the institutions for detention in Guantanamo Bay”.

Obama repeatedly promised to close Guantanamo during his election campaigns, but he failed to do so in connection with opposition in Congress.
