The former U.S. President said that a nuclear exchange will become a “catastrophe for all mankind”
Saying that he is proud of its peaceful achievements, former US President Jimmy Carter warned the President of Donald trump from any military action in Syria or other “hot spots” and urged the current American leader by all means to avoid a nuclear attack.
“I pray that our country was at peace, that trump was not exaggerating and not exacerbate the challenges arising from North Korea, Russia or Syria, said Carter in an interview with the Associated Press. – I hope he understands as deeply as I, like other presidents, that any nuclear exchange will mean disaster for all mankind.”
93-year-old former President added that even such a large-scale military attack “is a dangerous action” that can bring the situation under control.
An interview with Carter appeared after trump said that exploring the possibility of military action against Syria in response to alleged chemical attack against civilians.
Russia said that such a move would have serious consequences.
