He inspired a team of researchers from several American universities on the creation of a fundamentally new source of electricity.

As the main mechanism chosen was the difference in the salt concentration in marine and fresh water. This has resulted in reverse electrodialysis and as a result, the production of electricity without the need to recharge the battery. His invention of scientists called “artificial electric organ”.
