The Google translator is a very handy feature when you point your smartphone camera at an unknown word or expression and the machine gives you a translation of “infidel” in their native language. However, until recently such a useful travel thing could only be used when connected to the Internet, that in view of the availability of roaming is not always cheap. However, Google representatives announced the release of a mobile application that will use the neural network transfer function without having access to the Network.

It is worth noting that Google is not the first Corporation that has done similar. We already told you about how Microsoft has released an offline neural network translator. However, for us it just means that companies will compete with each other, forcing them to improve their products, and finally benefit the end users. Tomorrow, June 15, the assurance of Google, the transfer function of neural network will be available to all app users-translators for Android and iOS. The developers claim the support 59 language packs, each of which likely will need to install separately. The size of one of the language pack will be about 35 megabytes.

In General, at this stage, the creation of programmers Google looks more attractive than the products of Microsoft language packs weigh less, Google announced support for even the most budget models (at Microsoft, we recall, requires a special chip). In addition, Google has pulled ahead and by the number of languages supported – 59 vs 11. In any case, the winner will be show time, we, however, have to rejoice in the fact that neural network computing becomes what it needs – products that improve our lives.
