“Kaspersky lab” has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government

«Лаборатория Касперского» подала в суд на власти США

Trump administration forbade government agencies to use products of the Russian company

Moscow company “Kaspersky Lab”, is engaged in software development in the field of cybersecurity, applied to the Federal court in the United States with the requirement to lift the ban administration’s trump to use its products.

She stated that this prohibition deprived the company of the ability to use statutory procedures.

The Ministry of internal security of the United States in September issued a Directive, demanding that the civil government departments remove programs “Kaspersky Lab” of their network for 90 days.

The Directive came against the backdrop of growing concern of American officials that the software could open up opportunities for the Russian espionage and threatening national security.

Appeal to the court is a part of the “Kaspersky Lab” designed to absolve themselves of suspicion that it is vulnerable to the influence of the Kremlin.

The company has repeatedly stated that it does not communicate to any government, and stressed that he would not help any government to engage in cyber-espionage.

“The Department of homeland security has damaged the reputation and commercial activities, “Kaspersky Lab”, without presenting any evidence of misconduct on the part of the company,” said company founder Eugene Kaspersky in an open letter to the Ministry published on Monday.

Representatives of the Ministry did not respond to a request for comment.

The lawsuit alleges that the government mainly relied on unconfirmed media reports as evidence in the evaluation of the software “Kaspersky Lab”.

The company asks the court to lift the ban, but also declare that the products of the Russian companies do not pose a threat to the security of the computers of the US government.

The lawsuit States that the volume of sales of the company’s products to the United States government did not exceed 54 thousand dollars, which is about 0,03% of the sales of its American subsidiary in the United States.

However, statements about the software “Kaspersky Lab” caused damage to much more volume sales to ordinary consumers, but retailers, such as Best Buy, to abandon the company’s products.
