The losing Republican candidate from the state of Alabama filed a complaint in the court
Republican Roy Moore has filed a lawsuit to prevent the approval of Democrat Doug Jones is the winner of the election to the Senate from Alabama.
The filing occurred 14 hours prior to the meeting of the election Commission, which should officially declare Jones the winner of the early elections on 12 December. Jones Moore was ahead by about 20 thousand votes.
Attorney Moore wrote in the complaint filed Wednesday evening that he believes that the voting process was flawed and that it is necessary to investigate cases of fraud and, eventually, new elections.
“It’s not a question of Republicans or Democrats, because the issue of fairness of elections should have value for all,” said Moore on Wednesday, announcing the filing of a complaint.
The Secretary of state of Alabama-John Merrill said the Associated Press on Wednesday that he is not going to postpone the meeting of the election Commission.
