Russia and Kuwait will soon sign an agreement in the nuclear energy sector, said Russian energy Minister Alexander Novak.
According to the Minister, such an agreement was already made the first step: in 2016, signed a Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy. Novak noted that the next step should be the conclusion of an intergovernmental agreement, which will regulate the cooperation between the two countries in the nuclear energy sector, reports “RIA Novosti”.
“We hope that the signing of such a document between Russia and Kuwait will be held in the near future,” said Novak.
The Minister also noted that Russia together with the countries of the Persian Gulf may create a joint production of oil and gas equipment and scientific research institutes. These initiatives can help the countries of the Gulf to solve the problems associated with the extraction.
“Russia is ready to lend a helping hand in this case to its Arab friends,” stated the Minister.
