In the United States named winners of the most prestigious journalism award

Winners of the Pulitzer prize in 2018, the most prestigious awards in U.S. journalism and literature.

More than a century, the Pulitzer prize is awarded annually in 21 categories for achievements in journalism (14 categories), literature, drama, history and music (7 categories).

This year, the prize in the category of “Service to society” was the journalists of the newspaper The New York Times and The New Yorker magazine for publication, which allowed to expose sex offenders who have held a high position in society.

The award in the category “Journalistic investigation” was received by the newspaper The Washington Post for a series of articles about the politics of Alabama Roy Moore.

The staff of the New York Times and The Washington Post won prizes in the category “National news” for the publication about the Russian intervention in the American elections and the actions of the administration of Donald trump.

The prize in the category of international journalism were journalists for Reuters for a series of materials about the policy of the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte in the fight against drug trafficking.

Photographer Ryan Kelly from the newspaper the Daily Progress won the award in the category of “Operational photos”: reports of clashes in the city of Charlottesville, Virginia.
