To implement them, domestic businessmen can do without foreign partners

Russia allowed the importation of some Turkish fruit, but a joint Russian-Turkish “vegetable” projects remain frozen. Domestic businessmen who want to grow vegetables and herbs in Turkey, experts strongly recommend to shift to similar climatic conditions of the Crimea and Abkhazia. Those who planned to take in partners of the Turkish company to implement greenhouse projects in Russia, analysts remind that the technology of cultivation of vegetables and salads in Turkey are significantly different from Russian.
Permission for the import of citrus and stone fruit was made after the talks between Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan held on 10 October. The question of the import of Turkish vegetables will be solved after the visit of the Russian delegation in Turkey next week.
Meanwhile, as found “Izvestia”, a joint Russian-Turkish “vegetable” projects planned for implementation before the crisis in relations between the two countries remain frozen.
Thus, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the holding company “the White summer residence” Victor Semenov has informed “news” that the company does not intend to take any action to renew, a joint venture with Turkey as long as the relations between all countries will not be “absolutely clear and stable”. Recall that SP “White garden” for growing salad in Turkey was closed and the equipment sold after the announcement of the imposition of sanctions against Turkey.
Once we had made such progress — and suffered losses. The second time will be more careful, — said Semyonov.
Later the Chairman of the Board “the White garden” announced the search for alternative sites on the territory of Russia. At the moment, according to the businessman, the company is “exploring opportunities and climate” for work in the Crimea. While the company is limited to the cooperation with two farm businesses.
— The lack of a bridge makes the crossing of products expensive and unreliable. And this is very important because our products are perishable, — said Semyonov.
According to him, in Abkhazia the company is not yet able to find a plot suitable for production of lettuce land. The company also considered the possibility of work in South Ossetia. But, says Semenov, climatic conditions for growing lettuce not provide a year-round cycle without greenhouse heating, making the project economically feasible.
In turn, the Director of the research company “growth Technology” Tamara Reshetnikova says that in the Stavropol region, the Crimea, Karachay-Cherkessia and other regions of the country there are opportunities for almost year round production of lettuce in the open ground, and in December-February and under the film. In this regard, to place the Turkey salad plantation to Russian investors the urgent need not. However, according to her, about 80% of the salads (for the formation of the salad mixes) are still purchased abroad, including in Turkey.
The expert recalled that the leadership of the “White dacha” has repeatedly stated about the plans to launch salad projects in the Crimea (in March 2015), Kislovodsk (in 2014), North Ossetia and even Abkhazia. But they all remain at the stage of “training” and “consideration”.
— Obviously, buying abroad lettuce for filling, packaging and distribution in Russia is still much more profitable than to engage themselves in production, — says the expert.
Frozen still and a few other Russian-Turkish greenhouse projects, which are planned to implement is already on Russian soil. In particular, delayed the project for growing mushrooms in greenhouses Voronezh fruit company planned to involve the construction of a Turkish company partner.
According to analysts, there is no movement on the draft Turkish Aytekin Group in Dagestan and projects of Turkish Yukcel, Aytekin Group and IC Group in Chechnya. However, according to “Technology growth”, it happened primarily because the technology of cultivation of vegetables and salads in Turkey are significantly different from Russian. When implementing new projects in Russia are now used more modern design, equipment and technology.
Tamara Reshetnikova notes heavy dependence on foreign technologies and raw materials in the construction of greenhouses.
— Growing technologies in greenhouses all foreign — Dutch, at least, Israeli, Finnish, Spanish. Seeds of hybrids for cultivation in photoculture 100% imported. Much of the equipment we have not yet made. Substitutes soils the most reliable and high quality — branded, she said.
But, according to her, our manufacturers learned how to produce glass for coatings, the equipment for supplementary lighting, designs for greenhouses, but also worthy of drip irrigation system and power supply, environmental control.
The expert notes that over the past two years, the volume of the market of greenhouse vegetables in Russia has shrunk by almost 40% (compared to 2014), the range in the winter and early spring was much narrower.
The main reason is a significant decrease in imports and the slow growth of the gross harvest of vegetables in domestic greenhouses, — said Reshetnikov.
According to the “Technologies of growth” last year the harvest of greenhouse vegetables and herbs grew by only 3%. This year growth will be about 12-15%. The Ministry of agriculture, the growth must be at least 20% compared to 2015.
