The authors of the letter, addressed to the administration trump, emphasize the role of AGREEMENT in the national security of the United States
A group of American experts in the field of security administration sent trump a message, to warn against the failure of a nuclear agreement with Iran.
Since the end of the week, Trump will have to make a number of decisions related to this agreement, including on the advisability of sanctions against Iran’s oil industry, taken in the framework of the agreement. The consideration of this question against the backdrop of a wave of anti-government protests in Iran, the outbreak of public discontent with corruption and economic situation in the country.
The letter, drafted on the initiative of the National coalition for the prevention of the emergence of nuclear weapons in Iran, was signed by 52 people, among them retired soldiers, congressmen and ambassadors, including the former Chairman of the Senate Committee on foreign relations Republican Richard Lugar, Paul O’neill, who served as Minister of Finance under President George Bush, former Director of the NSA and the CIA Michael Hayden and former commander of the special forces, Admiral Eric Olson.
“We support the right of Iranian citizens to freedom of speech and peaceful protests and condemn the use of force against peaceful demonstrators,” – said in the letter.
“In response to events in Iran, both at present and in the future, the US should exercise caution and not to take any measures that may lead to the disruption AGREEMENT (nuclear agreement), which continues to play a key role in ensuring U.S. national security,” say the authors of the letter.
