The US urged Syria and Russia to give international observers access to the area of the incident
The U.S. state Department said Monday that symptoms affected by the alleged chemical attack in the suburbs of Damascus, Duma are reminiscent of the effects of asphyxiating or nerve substance, and urged Syria and Russia to open the area of the incident for international observers.
“A chemical attack occurred in the area of operations of the Syrian regime, Duma, where regime forces are trying to oust the opposition. Forces of the Syrian regime and its allies are denied international observers access to the area of the Duma,” – said in the state Department.
“The symptoms of the victims of the attack in the Duma, reported by qualified medical personnel and that can be seen in the photos and videos in social networks correspond to the effect of asphyxiating or nerve substance,” the statement reads.
