Russia has nothing to do with the attack on a school in Idlib, which killed 22 children and six adults, said the official representative of the foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova
The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Russia has nothing to do with the attack on a school in the Syrian Idlib. Briefing of the official representative the Ministry of foreign Affairs shows the TV channel “Russia 24”.
The representative of the Ministry stressed that the allegations of some mass media about the responsibility of Russia for the airstrike — “a lie”. “The Russian Federation has no relation to this terrible tragedy, this attack,” she said (quoted by “RIA Novosti”).
Zakharova also said that Russia calls on the international institutions for an immediate investigation into the murder of schoolchildren. According to her, the Ministry of defence are studying the data of objective control in connection with the tragedy, and will soon make an official statement.
Earlier Thursday about the strike on a school in Idlib said the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF). According to the Fund, the victims of the attack were 22 children and six teachers. The Fund is not indicated, the planes of which country struck at school.
Permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vitaly Churkin called the attack a terrible incident. “It’s terrible. I find it easier just to say that it’s not us, but I am a responsible person, so I need to wait and see what will our Ministry of defence,” — said the diplomat.
