The bill on temporary funding for government agencies submitted to the Senate
The house of representatives on Thursday approved a temporary budget that would avoid closure of the Federal government after Friday at midnight will expire at the end of the current budget.
The result of the vote (the voting was mainly along party lines) 231-m votes to 188, the House of representatives adopted the draft funding, which will enable the government to operate in normal mode until 19 January. The Democrats did not vote for the bill, protesting in particular against the refusal of the Republicans to include a paragraph about measures on immigration.
The bill sent to the Senate, where it may be considered later on Thursday.
