The head of Chechnya included in the “black list” of Washington, said that wouldn’t have gone to the United States for “all the foreign exchange reserves of the country”
New U.S. sanctions against five Russian citizens, including the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, are illegal and are of a hostile nature, said in the Kremlin on Thursday, saying that Moscow is likely to take retaliatory measures.
The U.S. Treasury Department on Wednesday imposed new sanctions against alleged human rights violators.
The Ministry notes that in the “black list” was included Ramzan Kadyrov, the Chechen leader and close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“We believe these sanctions are illegal, believe that they are unfriendly, we don’t agree with them” – quoted by TASS press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
According to Peskov, “with high probability we can assume that the principle of reciprocity is respected”.
Answering the question of who the citizens of the United States “mirror equal” Kadyrov, Peskov said: “not only have such people.”
Kadyrov himself, according to TASS, ridiculed the decision of the United States.
“I was waiting for a sleepless night! And sleeping will not help!” he said on the page in Instagram.
He added that he would not go in the United States for “all the foreign exchange reserves of the country.”
“Known worldwide for great Americans systematically come to visit me, and some plan to settle in Chechnya. And in a coffin they saw your approval. Say that sanctions are somehow connected with human rights. Well, why then search for that list of people on the other side of the world, if you are in the White house and the Pentagon?”, – Kadyrov wrote.
