In the United States on the eve of the exhibition CES 2017 — annual “consumer electronics show”, which since 1967 the world’s leading companies present their most interesting news. And although in recent years the most significant “high-tech” announcements often are on other shows or on separate presentations, CES still has something to surprise. News.Hi-tech has selected the most interesting products and technologies, shown last week in Las Vegas.
How OLED or QLED? At the risk (or, conversely, hoping?) to confuse buyers, Samsung has introduced at CES 2017 new branding for TV, the image which is formed using quantum dots. Technology, based on the ability of nanoparticles of a certain composition to emit, depending on their size, different color, not for the first year. But now she had a name QLED, confusingly similar to the OLED used, including the main competitor of Samsung in the TV market, LG.

Despite the new branding, QLED TVs in every sense of the word presented by Samsung at CES 2017 new items are not. They, like the TVs from last year’s SUHD-Samsung line, using quantum dots according to the principle of photoluminescence of the nanoparticles glow through the light sent them from ordinary LCD TVs to LED-backlighting. TVs line QLED is “quantum dots” supplied “wrapper” from alloy that provides higher brightness and saturation. And lighting reworked to Shine in different directions, providing new products such as the flagship Samsung Q9F, excellent viewing angles. And this is the record brightness up to 2000 nits.
In the “real” QLED TVs (their appearance is expected on the market until 2018) will be used electroluminescence. That is, the backlight is not required, and forming the matrix elements with the “quantum dots” will glow under the influence of electricity themselves, as OLEDs in OLED-TV. Just a separate backlight is not used, the colors will be purer and richer, and black — really black. Like this (still “spherical in vacuum”) QLED will be brighter and cheaper than OLED, this will provide excellent viewing angles and a wide range of colors, suitable to display HDR content.

According to rumors, LG is also interested in “quantum” technology and investing in related development a lot of money. Meanwhile, the flagship TV companies, including ultra-thin a 3.85-mm Signature LG OLED W7, use OLED. TVs with the same technology — a line of Bravia A1Einvolving besides as audiodynamics the surface of the screen — at CES Sony showed.

Computer innovations at CES traditionally can be divided into two groups depending on whether that particular product is “responsible” to the question: “to You shashechki or to go?” The leader in the category of “checkered” this year definitely was the company Razer. Its conceptual gaming laptop Project Valerie is equipped with three 17-inch screens with a resolution of 4K. Additional screens vydvigaetsya for basic and slightly swiveled in the direction of the user. That’s just a used graphics card Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 is hardly enough juice to display the game on all three monitors at native resolution. So we have an analogue of the usual motor shows concept cars: nice, but not really goes.

In the other camp are the classic notebooks “for work” — such as the next incarnation 14 inch laptop ThinkPad X1 Carbon from Lenovo with Intel chips 7 generation, fast both on smartphones with fingerprint scanner and battery raboty to 15 hours. “Classic” has already become and PC hybrid two-in-one capable, thanks to the transformation mechanism to transform from a conventional laptop into a tablet. It is in this form-factor, Dell has now performed a version of its popular 13-inch frameless ultrabook XPS 13.

Most market leaders save announcements pocket equipment for the exhibition MWC in Barcelona, but a couple of interesting new products and got to CES. So, Huawei has announced to US their flagship Mate 9, inhabited voice assistant Amazon Alexa, and affordable, but elegant 5.5-inch Honor 6X, which review you can read on our website.

Model ZenFone AR puts the record from the point of view of performance: the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 821, 8 GB RAM, 5.7 inch Super AMOLED QuadHD display, a 23-megapixel main camera, built-in storage up to 256 GB, the battery is 3300 mAh. Sales should begin in the second quarter of 2017.

BlackBerry smartphones are no longer doing this business is completely handed over to the Chinese TCL, but it does not prevent the company to bring to CES innovations. In 2017 in Las Vegas debuted TCL developed the conceptual apparatus of Mercury running on Android and equipped in the best traditions of BlackBerry mechanical keyboard.

Noted at CES as part of the smartphone and Samsung — the Korean company has updated the range of “average performance” A. Galaxy Devices protected from water and dust, equipped with USB ports a-C with support for fast charging and higher capacity batteries. They work on 8-core processors and got 2 (Galaxy A3) to 3 (A5, A7) GB of RAM and a camera of 13 (A3) or 16 MP (A5, A7). Externally new products, which will arrive on the European market in February, reminiscent of the flagship Galaxy S7. Only colors softer, in addition to the black and gold have light blue and peach shades.
