Representatives of the state Committee of national security of Kyrgyzstan questioned Yahya Mashrapova after his return to his homeland and released without claim
The state Committee for national security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan said it was not involved in the terrorist attack in Istanbul club Reina citizen of Kyrgyzstan Yahya Mashrapova that earlier, some Turkish media was named a suspect in the crime, reports “Interfax”.
“A citizen of the Republic of Mashrapov was questioned on arrival in Kyrgyzstan. Evidence of his involvement in the terrorist attack there. He was released after questioning, but testing continues”, — said the Agency official representative of the national security Committee Rakhat Sulaimanov.
In turn the chief of Department of internal Affairs of Kara-Suu district (Osh region, southern Kyrgyzstan), Bascur Abdykalykov explained that Mashrapov was just like the sketch of wanted terrorist, which caused the attention of the Turkish secret services.
Mashrapov told Kyrgyz portal Turmush.kg on the day of the attack, was in Kyrgyzstan and arrived in Istanbul on 1 January 2017 for business, and when it was going to depart, was arrested at verification of documents of passengers of the plane.
“I asked to see his passport, then told to get off the plane. When I got off the plane, we saw on the street about 20 people. It was the people in the form of the police, the military, in civilian form. I started to show pictures of some guy, asked me when I arrived. They questioned me for hours. Because of this, the flight to Bishkek was delayed for an hour. I explained that interviewed me in connection with the attack in the night, said I looks a bit like the criminal with the photo, apologized and put me in the plane”, — explained Mashrapov.
The attack on the nightclub Reina occurred on the night of 1 January. Unknown rushed into the room, where he opened fire on the visitors. The attack killed 39 people, including 16 foreigners, another 65 people were injured. Among the victims was one citizen of Russia — the 28-year-old Nurana Hasanova. The Turkish authorities have called the incident a terrorist attack.
The assailant managed to escape from the crime scene. As stated by the interior Minister of Turkey, Suleyman Soylu, “the terrorist was dressed in a coat, and after the attack got changed and left the club in other clothes”. Later, CNN Turk, citing data from police reported that the assailant could be a citizen of Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan.
Responsibility for the attack took on itself banned in Russia as extremist organization “Islamic state”.
