Kay Bailey Hutchison says that Moscow has not fulfilled the obligation to prevent the use of chemical weapons in Syria
Russia must take responsibility for the recent chemical attack in Syria, said the U.S. representative to NATO to CNBC, urging Moscow to abandon the “mad behavior.”
“Stop this crazy behavior, refrain from undue influence, which you spread around the world. It’s time to become a member of the community of Nations, and if you become them, we will welcome you,” said Kay Bailey Hutchison.
“I hope Russia will take responsibility for it, she added. – Russia was the guarantor of [the fact that Syria will not use chemical weapons]. Russia is a supporter of Syria, there is her base. They need to take responsibility for the implementation of international commitments to prevent the use of chemical weapons, which they assumed,” she said.
According to Hutchison, Russia has to keep its ally Syria, but did not.
“Russia must understand that we are not going to retreat that we will act in the framework of international rules on the use of force. We tried to put some damage potential in Syria, but it was assumed that Russia will do it myself. Russia should fulfil its international obligations”, – said the Ambassador.
