The US and its allies in Asia are preparing to launch a campaign to intercept ships suspected of violating the international sanctions imposed on North Korea.
Senior Administration officials, the U.S. reported that in the framework of this plan to the region can be deployed Coast guard forces of the United States.
Washington is discussing this project with regional partners, including Japan, South Korea, Australia and Singapore. The aim is to deprive the DPRK of the ability to trade by sea that is required to recharge its missile and nuclear programs.
According to the plan, the interception would not mean the beginning of a naval blockade of North Korea (Pyongyang earlier said it would regard a blockade as an act of war) suspicious of the court will be accompanied and, perhaps, carried their goods will be confiscated, if prohibited their import or export from the DPRK.
This project is in the process of development.
