Washington sent a group of diplomatic staff from Russia in response to the poisoning of Yulia and Sergei Skripal
Sent from U.S. to Russian diplomats and their families returned to Moscow.
Russian news agencies have reported that they returned two flights that landed Sunday at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport. One plane flew diplomats from the Russian Embassy in Washington, the other former employees of the new York Consulate and the permanent mission of Russia to the UN.
A few days ago, the US demanded that 60 Russian diplomats left the country. The decision was made in the framework of large-scale expulsions of diplomats by Britain and its allies in connection with the poisoning of former Russian double agent and his daughter.
The UK believes that Russia is involved in the poisoning Sergei Skripal and Julia Skripal nerve toxic substance. The incident occurred on March 4 in the English city of Salisbury. Moscow strongly denies the charges against her and in return expelled the diplomats of the Western countries.
