The U.S. Treasury Department Thursday imposed sanctions against 10 more Venezuelan officials, including several Ministers, who, as claimed by the Department, helped the country’s President Nicolas Maduro in his attempt to undermine democracy in the country.
“These individuals are associated with the undermining of the electoral process, censorship of the media or corruption in the public food programs in Venezuela”, – reads the statement of the Ministry of Finance. Recall, October 15, in Venezuela’s gubernatorial elections were held.
In the sanctions list includes the Ambassador of Venezuela in Italy Julian Rodriguez Diaz, the new Minister of culture Ernesto Emilio Villegas, Minister of urban agriculture Freddy Bernal Rosales, and the head of the National telephone company Manuel fernández meléndez.
