The President signed a Directive formalizing the ban
The President of the United States Donald trump signed a Directive prohibiting transgender people to serve in the U.S. armed forces. The intention of the President to make it was announced three weeks ago. Thus, trump has cancelled the decision of the Obama administration adopted a year ago.
In a series of tweets, trump explained that he decided on the ban after consultation with the generals and experts, because the military-transgender impose on the military budgets of the “incredible medical expenses”.
According to research from the Rand Corporation, now part of the U.S. armed forces, there are about 4 thousand of transgender people. Approximately 250 people currently change sex.
