Washington will host Baltic summit, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the independence of the Baltic States
The US President Donald trump on April 3 to take the White house the leaders of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania within the Baltic summit.
According to first Deputy press Secretary of the White house Raj Shah, President trump and the leaders of the three Baltic States will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the independence of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
The summit, which will mark the beginning of a new era of close cooperation between the two countries, would focus on the achievements of the Baltic States since independence.
It is also planned to discuss cooperation in business, trade, energy and culture and the need to strengthen the security of these countries, added the spokesman.
As stated by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars rinkēvičs in a recent interview with the Russian service “voice of America” for the past three or four years the community of democratic States is under attack. According to him, the very basis of democratic institutions is being attacked by the false news, as well as through financial influence, so in this situation it is very important to stick together.
In the upcoming summit of the Baltic States expect to emphasize this idea.
