The company Donald trump got out of the project for the construction of the Trump Tower in Batumi. To avoid conflict of interest elected President of the United States closes their business projects, points out Bloomberg
The project of construction of Trump Tower in the Georgian city of Batumi will be implemented, reported Bloomberg citing a joint statement Donald trump’s Trump Organization and the Georgian private investment companies Silk Road Group. The company signed an agreement to build in Batumi 47-storey skyscraper in 2012.
In a statement, the two companies referenced in the Agency, said that the decision “to officially complete the development [of the project] the Trump Tower, Batumi”.
It clarifies the Agency, the folding project in Georgia was the “last effort of the elected President of the United States to dispel accusations that his business would cause a conflict of interests after he takes office in the White house.” Political opponents trump had previously indicated that his business interests could harm US foreign policy, and in particular, in the countries of the former Soviet Union.
Last month, the Trump Organization announced the folding of the business projects in Azerbaijan and Brazil, reminds Bloomberg.
The agreement on the construction of the Trump Tower Batumi was signed when President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili. In 2013, when he withdrew from the government, the project was shelved. About a month ago, the head of Silk Road Group Giorgi Ramishvili stated that the project is still in force.
To comment on the Agency why the project decided to curtail, Ramishvili refused. He also did not answer the question of whether he will attend the inauguration of trump, which will take place on January 20.
