Tbilisi initiatives increase mobility and expand access to education for residents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, noted in the state Department
The United States welcomed the package of proposals of Georgia to improve the lives of people in the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
“These measures help meet the needs of the most vulnerable segments of the population on both sides of the lines of administrative boundaries, and provide enhanced opportunities for mobility, improved living conditions and access to education,” said state Department spokesman Heather Nauert.
“We welcome Georgia’s commitment to dialogue and peaceful settlement of the conflict, – is spoken further in her statement. – The United States reiterates its full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders”.
