US Ambassador on disarmament Robert wood said the high pace of the DPRK’s nuclear programme
Perhaps in a few months, North Korea could strike the U.S. with ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads, and therefore, its nuclear program must be closed, said on Tuesday, a senior us official involved in disarmament issues.
In his speech to the conference on disarmament in Geneva, the US Ambassador on disarmament Robert wood also warned about the expansion of the arsenals of China and Russia.
“Russia, China and North Korea expand their arsenals, reinforce the role of nuclear weapons in their strategies for maintaining security, and in some cases also developing new nuclear weapons to threaten other peaceful countries,” he said.
It may be that “a few months” separating North Korea from gaining the ability to strike the U.S. with nuclear ballistic missiles, suggested wood.
