Adherents of various faiths continue the work of Martin Luther king
28 August in Washington is a March of religious leaders of various faiths in defense of justice. “The Ministry of justice and the current administration are trampling on the dream of Dr. king – the organizers of the demonstration, referring to the spoken fifty-four years ago, the historic speech of Martin Luther king Jr.’s “I Have a dream”, dedicated to overcoming racial discrimination.
“We hold March to confirm that religious leaders still intend to be at the forefront of the struggle for social justice and civil rights”, – is spoken further in the document.
The demands of the marchers belong to such areas as voting rights, health care, judicial reform and economic justice.
