The United States continues to consider the response to the chemical attack, while Russia warned of the danger of military conflict over Syria

WASHINGTON – amid Russian warnings about the threat of a military conflict with the US over Syria, the President, Donald trump held a meeting with the national security Council to discuss the response to the recent chemical attack in Syria, the responsibility for which lay on the forces of President Bashar al-Assad.

“President trump just completed a meeting with his team on issues of national security, which discussed the situation in Syria, – announced in the afternoon on Thursday, the press Secretary of the White house Sarah Huckabee Sanders. – The final decision is still pending. We continue the analysis of intelligence information and consultations with our partners and allies. Tonight the President will speak with President Macron and Prime Minister may”.

Before meeting with advisors trump said that decision will be made “very soon”.

Later, in the course of the event in the Rose garden of the White house, the President, the reasoning of the increase in the defence budget, said: “we will Have the most powerful armed forces in history, and what could be the best time. Right? Right now they need us”.

Amid speculation about a possible attack on the United States and its allies against targets in Syria, trump has publicly warned Russia that “missiles fly in Syria” and then wrote in “Twitter” that “does not say when there will be an attack on Syria”.

Russia called on all parties to refrain from actions that could destabilize the situation in the region.

“We hope that the tipping point will not be passed, that the United States and its allies refrain from military action against a sovereign state. The probability of escalation is now even higher than in Syria because our army is there at the request of the Syrian government,” – said Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia.

Answering the question about the probability of war between the US and Russia, Nebenzia said, “sorry, we can’t rule out anything because we have seen reports from Washington, they were very warlike. They know we’re there, and I hope will be a dialogue through the appropriate channels to prevent any such danger.”
